The HERO-04 TOPS Silent Hero 4 Knife is the compact EDC version of the original Silent Hero field knife, designed by Anton Du Plessis – who’s task as the Chief of Operations for the Specialized Interdiction Unit of the Silent Heroes Foundation is to combat poaching in South Africa. The Silent Hero 4 features a 4.25 inch drop point fixed blade made of 1095 steel, .13 inch thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 56-58, a 4.00 inch cutting edge, a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish, and a notched thumb ramp for secure grip and precise control. The Silent Hero 4 has full tang construction for strength; ergonomic smooth black canvas Micarta scales for comfortable grip, and a lanyard hole. A horizontal carry Kydex belt loop sheath is included. The TOPS Knives Silent Hero 4 Knife has an overall length of 8.88 inches, and it weighs 6 ounces; 8.8 ounces with the sheath. Made in the USA.
From TOPS: The Original Silent Hero designed by Anton du Plessis was intended to be used as a bush/defense knife for guys that he was training to fight rhino poachers in Africa. It was wildly popular and still is to this day. The Silent Hero 4 is a smaller version of that blade that would still be great in a fight, but has a more standard EDC size, making it even easier to carry for everyday use.
